WHAT IS SCAR TISSUE?

It is often that scar tissue (tendinosis) is the reason for musculoskeletal pain, tightness and limited athletic performance. Scar tissue restricts mobility and causes our muscles to lose their ability to absorb shock. When our muscles cannot absorb shock our joints get more wear and tear. It is safe to say that untreated scar tissue can accelerate the degenerative process of our joints and cause osteoarthritis. Scar tissue can be vastly improved by the soft tissue therapies that we specialize in at Sports Chiropractic. The therapies that we use that are most effective are Graston Technique, Active Release Technique (ART) and Shockwave Therapy which aim to return muscles, tendons and ligaments to their original state.
